Difference between Normal Rubric and Ranged Rubric

Normal Rubric

  • Each level has a fixed mark.

Example:

  • Excellent = 10
  • Good = 8
  • Average = 5

Ranged Rubric

  • Each level has a mark range.

Example:

  • Excellent = 9–10
  • Good = 7–8
  • Average = 5–6

Ranged Rubric gives lecturers more flexibility when grading.
